Biography

Ram is an Indian filmmaker and actor primarily associated with Tamil cinema. He began his career in the film industry by assisting renowned Hindi filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi and later worked under acclaimed director Balu Mahendra, gaining valuable experience in filmmaking, storytelling, and cinematography. After developing his skills behind the camera, Ram made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed Tamil film Kattradhu Thamizh (2007), starring Jiiva. The film received considerable appreciation for its unconventional storytelling, realistic portrayal of society, and exploration of complex human emotions.

Following his debut, Ram established himself as a filmmaker known for presenting thought-provoking stories, realistic characters, and socially relevant themes. His subsequent directorial ventures include Thanga Meenkal (2013), Taramani (2017), and Peranbu (2018), each exploring different aspects of human relationships, family, love, and emotional struggles.

In addition to directing, Ram has also appeared as an actor in Tamil films, taking on roles that showcase his versatility as a performer. His filmmaking style is often recognised for its unconventional narratives, strong character development, and emotionally driven storytelling.
