Abitha is an Indian actress who has made a significant impact in the Tamil film industry. She is best known for her role in the critically acclaimed film "Sethu" (1999), where she starred alongside Vikram.   

 

 

Early Life and Career:

Abitha's journey into the world of acting began unexpectedly. She was spotted by director Bala while traveling on a bus, and he was immediately impressed by her natural beauty and presence. This led to her being cast in "Sethu," a role that would catapult her to fame.

 

The film's success brought Abitha widespread recognition, and she was flooded with offers from other filmmakers. However, she chose to prioritize her education, completing her postgraduate degree in Sociology from Annamalai University.

 

Television Career:

After her studies, Abitha returned to the entertainment industry, focusing primarily on television serials. She gained immense popularity for her portrayal of Archana in the long-running serial "Thirumathi Selvam," which aired from 2007 to 2013 on Sun TV. Her performance in the serial earned her two Best Actress awards at the Sun Kudumbam Viruthugal in 2010 and 2012.
