Adil Afsar
Biography
Adil Afsar is an accomplished Indian cinematographer and Director of Photography known for his work on Madgaon Express (2024), Abhay (2022), Khaali Peeli (2020), and Mere Dad Ki Maruti (2013). Over the years, he has built a diverse and impressive portfolio across feature films, web series, music videos, commercials, and short films, establishing himself as one of the most versatile visual storytellers in the Indian film industry.
Adil holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a specialization in Applied Art and a Master’s degree in Filmmaking from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. His academic foundation in both art and cinema has significantly influenced his visual style, blending creativity with technical precision.
He began his career in 2006 as a Director of Photography at MTV India, where he honed his craft in youth-oriented and fast-paced productions. After his successful stint in television, he transitioned to feature films, debuting as a cinematographer with Luv Ka The End (2011) under Yash Raj Films.
Since then, Adil Afsar has worked with some of the leading names in Indian cinema, bringing distinct visual aesthetics to every project he undertakes. His keen eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling has earned him recognition and respect within the industry.
