Aditya became an overnight sensation as he played the lead role in the blockbuster romantic film Aashiqui 2, which was the sequel to the 1990 romantic cult film of the same name. The actor not only wooed the audience with his brilliant performance but also swooned a billion hearts with his charming personality.
Aditya Roy Kapur made his feature film debut with London Dreams (2009) where he had a minor role as a Pakistani musician. Whilst the actor did not garner any attention for his role in his debut film, he got noticed for his roles in Action Replayy and Guzaarish where he played supporting roles.

Following its huge success, the film was remade in Telugu as Nee Jathaga Nenudali (2014) with Sachin J. Joshi and Nazia Hussain playing the lead roles.
