Biography

Adrian Grünberg is a Mexican film director and screenwriter, best known for his work on films like Get the Gringo (2012) and Rambo: Last Blood (2019).   

 

 

Early Life and Career

Born in Mexico City, Grünberg's passion for filmmaking led him to pursue a career in the industry. He honed his skills as a first assistant director on notable films such as Apocalypto (2006), Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010), and Edge of Darkness (2010), gaining valuable experience alongside renowned directors like Mel Gibson and Oliver Stone.   

 

 

Directorial Debut and Subsequent Works

Grünberg's directorial debut came with the action-comedy film Get the Gringo (2012), which he also co-wrote. The film, starring Mel Gibson, received mixed reviews but garnered commercial success.   

 

 

His subsequent work, Rambo: Last Blood (2019), the fifth installment in the iconic Rambo franchise, marked a significant milestone in his career. While the film faced criticism for its graphic violence, it also achieved box office success.   

 

 

Recent Projects

In 2023, Grünberg directed The Black Demon, a horror film set in Mexico. The film, starring Josh Lucas, tells the story of an oil rig worker who encounters a legendary creature.
