Renowned for his eloquent Urdu dialogues and powerful storytelling, he wrote for many of the biggest films of the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Early Life

Agha Jani Kashmiri was born on 10 March 1908 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, British India. He developed a passion for Urdu literature and theatre at an early age, establishing himself as a playwright and poet before entering the film industry.

Career

Kashmiri began his film career as a dialogue and screenplay writer in the 1940s. He became one of Hindi cinema's most sought-after writers, collaborating with leading filmmakers and production houses. His mastery of the Urdu language and dramatic writing made him especially popular for historical, social, and romantic films.

He wrote dialogues and screenplays for numerous classics featuring stars such as Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Nargis, Sunil Dutt, and Rajendra Kumar.
