Biography
Ahan Shetty (born December 28, 1995) is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films. The son of Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, he made his acting debut with the action-romance film Tadap (2021), which earned him the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Male.
Early Life and Family:
Ahan was born in Mumbai, India, to actor Suniel Shetty and businesswoman Mana Shetty. He is the younger brother of actress Athiya Shetty. His mother, Monisha Kadri, is a businesswoman, designer, and social activist, with a diverse cultural background, being born to a Gujarati Muslim architect and a Punjabi Hindu social activist.
Career:
Ahan's debut film Tadap, directed by Milan Luthria, is a remake of the Telugu film RX 100. To prepare for his role, Ahan gained 11 kg and had 11 to 12 meals a day. The film, released in December 2021, received mixed reviews, with praise for Ahan's performance and the action scenes but criticism for the screenplay.
The film grossed ₹34.86 crore at the box office. Critics like Monika Rawal Kukreja of Hindustan Times and Devesh Sharma of Filmfare praised Ahan's impressive debut, especially in action scenes.
