Ahmet Sesigürgil

Biography

Ahmet Sesigürgil was born in 1978 in Ankara, Turkey. He is a Turkish cinematographer and producer who began making short films in 1998. He studied Business Administration at Bilkent University before pursuing further education in cinematography and filmmaking at Central Saint Martins in London, the New York Film Academy, and the Maine Photographic Workshops. He also played ice hockey at the national level for Turkey.

 

Sesigürgil has built an international career working across feature films, television, documentaries, commercials, and experimental projects. His notable cinematography credits include Silsile (Consequences, 2014), Limonata (2015), Dört Köşeli Üçgen (2018), Karakomik Filmler: Kaçamak (2019), The Gift (2019), Alef (2020), The Club (2021–2023), and Creature (2023).

 

His cinematography has also earned recognition, including the Golden Tulip for Best Cinematography at the Istanbul Film Festival for Silsile and the Golden Sycamore for Best Cinematography for Dört Köşeli Üçgen.

 

Sesigürgil married Turkish actress Nehir Erdoğan on 7 September 2014. The couple later divorced in December 2016.
