Biography

Aindrita Ray is an Indian film actress who has carved her niche in the South Indian entertainment industry with films like Manasaare(2009), Veera Parampare(2010), Paramathma(2011), and Bhajarangi(2013). 

 

The actress received the Suvarna Best Actress Award and the South Scope Best Kannada Actress Award for her portrayal of Devika in the film Manasaare.

 

The actress debuted in the South film industry with Mahesh Babu`s family drama Meravanige in the year 2008. Aindrita played the lead female Nandini with co-star Prajwal Devaraj as the male lead and Sadhu Kokila, Komal as the supporting cast.

 

 The film fared well with the critics and IndiaGlitz noted "A very beautiful looking Andrita Ray is good in her expressions and dance. She has freaked out in a song that reminds actress Malashri`s `Nanjundi Kalyana` song Olage Seridhare Gundu...the song still popular." 

 

The following year, she appeared in various films like Junglee, Vayuputra, and Love Guru. The films fared average at the box office and with the critics.

 

In 2010, she appeared in various films like Nooru Janmaku, Nannavanu, Januma Janumadallu, A Flat, etc. The films fared average at the box office as well as with the critics. 

 

The highlight of the year came when she starred in S. Narayan`s drama film Veera Parampare. With co-stars Ambarish and Sudeep, the film emerged as a box-office success and garnered great reviews from the critics. 

 

Aindrita`s performance won her a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress, with IndiaClitz calling her dance moves a treat to watch.
 

In 2012, she starred in Parijatha, a romantic drama directed by Prabhu Srinivas, where she was seen with her Manasaare co-star Diganth. The same year she appeared in the action film Prem Adda which was a flop at the box office. 

 

Next, she was seen in films like Rajani Kantha, Kaddipudi, and Tony. The films did poorly at the box office as well as with the critics. The 2013 film Bhajarangi had Aindrita sharing the screen with Shivrajkumar.

 

 The fantasy drama, directed by A. Harsha was a box office hit and opened to a positive response. She also appeared in films like Bachchan (2014), a Bengali comedy thriller, and Mungaru Male 2, a Kannada film, directed by Shashank

 

The films performed averagely at the box office. Her 2016 release includes the movie Amar Aponjon directed by Raja Chanda. Her 2019 release includes Main Zaroor Aaunga.
