Biography
Akin Omotoso is a Nigerian-born South African filmmaker, actor, writer, and director known for his significant contributions to African cinema and television. Born in 1974 in Maiduguri, Nigeria, he spent his early years in Ile-Ife before relocating to South Africa with his family in 1992. He is the son of renowned writer and academic Kole Omotoso and the brother of acclaimed novelist Yewande Omotoso. is African*, which was released in 2003. His versatility and talent helped establish him as a respected figure in both film and television. Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards in 2016. The director continues to inspire a new generation of African creatives.
