Biography

Alice Sophia Eve (born February 6, 1982) is a talented British-American actress who has made a notable mark in both film and television. Born in London to actors Trevor Eve and Sharon Maughan, acting runs in her blood. She is the eldest of three children and has English, Irish, and Welsh ancestry. Her family spent some time in Los Angeles during her younger years before returning to the UK.   

Eve's educational background includes attending Bedales School and Westminster School before taking a gap year to study at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. She then pursued English at St Catherine's College, Oxford University, where she also actively participated in student theatrical productions.   

Her professional acting career began in 2004 with supporting roles in the television film Hawking and the drama Stage Beauty. She continued to build her resume with appearances in British television, including The Rotters' Club and Agatha Christie's Poirot. In 2006, she starred in the comedies Starter for 10 and Big Nothing, showcasing her versatility by adopting an American accent in the latter.

Eve gained further recognition with roles in Hollywood films such as Crossing Over (2009), She's Out of My League (2010), and a brief appearance in Sex and the City 2 (2010). Her profile rose significantly with her portrayal of the younger Agent O in Men in Black 3 (2012) and as Dr. Carol Marcus in Star Trek Into Darkness (2013). She has since starred in a variety of films, including Before We Go (2014), Criminal (2016), Misconduct (2016), and Replicas (2018).   

On the television front, Eve has had recurring roles in popular series like HBO's Entourage, Marvel's Iron Fist as the complex Mary Walker, and Amazon Prime's The Power. She also appeared in the Black Mirror episode "Nosedive" and the miniseries Ordeal by Innocence and Belgravia.   

Beyond acting, Eve briefly explored screenwriting aspirations and holds the distinction of becoming a naturalized American citizen in 2017. Known for her striking heterochromia (different colored eyes) and her articulate received pronunciation, Alice Eve continues to be a compelling presence on screen, demonstrating a diverse range and captivating audiences with her performances.
