Early Life and Education

Krige's passion for acting ignited during her time at Rhodes University, where she pursued a degree in psychology and literature. However, her talent for the stage soon took center stage, leading her to earn an honors degree in drama. After graduating, she further honed her skills at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.   

 

A Stellar Career

Krige's breakthrough role came in 1981 when she starred as Sybil Gordon in the Academy Award-winning film "Chariots of Fire." Her performance garnered critical acclaim and established her as a promising actress. She continued to impress with her roles in films such as "King David," "Barfly," and "Haunted Summer."   

 

One of Krige's most iconic roles is that of the Borg Queen in "Star Trek: First Contact." Her portrayal of the menacing alien leader was both chilling and mesmerizing, solidifying her status as a sci-fi icon. She reprised the role in the final episode of "Star Trek: Voyager" and a live attraction at Star Trek: The Experience.
