Alka
Biography
Alka was an Indian actress who worked in Hindi cinema during the 1960s and 1970s. She appeared in a variety of leading, supporting, and guest roles, earning recognition for her performances in several notable films of the era.
Alka played the lead role of Rekha in Wapas, portraying a determined young woman who defies her mother's wishes, leaves her wealthy family, and marries a struggling singer, Ajay, played by Ajay Verekar. She also starred opposite Deb Mukherjee in Ansoo Ban Gaye Phool. The film featured the popular duet "Jaane Kaisa Hai Mera Deewana," sung by Asha Bhosle and Kishore Kumar.
Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Alka became known primarily as a supporting actress and also made guest appearances in numerous Hindi films. One of her most memorable later performances came in Kalicharan, where she portrayed the sister of the protagonist, played by Shatrughan Sinha.
Although she enjoyed a successful period in Hindi cinema, her acting career gradually declined toward the end of the 1970s. Like many actors of her generation, she eventually stepped away from the film industry after appearing in a number of memorable supporting roles.
