Biography

Allegra Edwards is an American actress best known for playing Ingrid Kannerman in the science-fiction comedy series Upload (2020–2025). She is also known for Briarpatch, Friends from College, New Girl, and Modern Family.

Early Life and Education

Edwards was born on April 19, 1988, in Santa Clara, California. She developed an interest in performing at an early age and worked in modeling, dance, and acting during her childhood. She studied theater and television at Pepperdine University, graduating in 2010, and later earned an MFA in Acting from the American Conservatory Theater in 2013.

Career

Edwards began her professional career in theater and appeared in the 2015 Off-Broadway production Everything You Touch. She gradually moved into television, making guest appearances in series such as Modern Family, New Girl, Friends from College, The Mindy Project, and Orange Is the New Black.

In 2019, she gained recognition for playing Cindy McCabe in the crime drama series Briarpatch. Her breakthrough came in 2020 when she was cast as Ingrid Kannerman in Upload, created by Greg Daniels.

As Ingrid, Edwards portrays Nathan Brown's wealthy and ambitious former girlfriend in a futuristic world where human consciousness can be uploaded into digital afterlives. The role became her best-known performance, and she remained part of the series throughout its four-season run.

Later Work

Edwards has continued appearing in television and short-form projects, including Ghosts, King of the Hill, and Bad Thoughts. She is also attached to the television series Eternally Yours, in which she plays Liz.

Personal Life

Edwards is married to actor Clayton Snyder, and they have one child.
