Amit Sadh

Biography

Born on 5th June 1983 in Birmingham, England, Amit Sadh is an Indian-British television and film actor. He began his career with the television serial Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar and made his feature film debut with Phoonk 2 in 2010. Amit quit his studies after standard 12 to pursue his dream of becoming an actor and shifted to Mumbai.

Amit Sadh was in a relationship with his Phoonk 2 co-star Neeru Bajwa and both got engaged after their stint together in the first season of the dance reality show Nach Baliye. Later, in 2010, the couple broke up for reasons unknown.

After making his debut in Neena Gupta`s romantic drama serial Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar in 2002, opposite Riva Bubber, Amit went on to appear in a Hindi TV show Guns and Roses, co-starring his ex-flame Neeru Bajwa. He then participated in the first seasons of reality shows like Nach Baliye, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi, and Bigg Boss.

Amit`s debut movie Phoonk 2 was a disaster at the box office and failed to garner much appreciation. His second film Maximum co-starring Naseeruddin Shah and Sonu Sood met with the same fate as Phoonk 2. Amit redeemed himself with his next film, Kai Po Che, which was released in 2013.

Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Kai Po Che was based on Chetan Bhagat`s novel 3 Mistakes of My Life and starred Amit Sadh, Sushant Singh Rajput, and Rajkummar Rao in the lead. Kai Po Che tells the story of how three friends struggle to open a cricket shop in the backdrop of continuous communal tension in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

This story of friendship and human triumph was an instant hit with the audience and critics alike. Amit essayed the role of Omkar Shastri and his performance was very well received by everyone.

Amit`s 2016 releases include Sultan, starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead, and Akira, starring Sonakshi Sinha. His filmography also includes Running Shaadi (2017), Sarkar 3 (2017), Raag Desh (2017), the sports drama, Gold (2018), Yaara (2020), and Shakuntala Devi (2020).

He also co-starred opposite R. Madhavan in the Amazon Prime Original series, Breathe in 2018.
