Biography
Aml Ameen, born 30 July 1985 in London, England, is a British actor, writer, director, and producer. He began performing at a young age, appearing in West End productions including Oliver! and later studying acting at the Barbara Speake Stage School.
He gained early recognition for his role as Trife in the British film Kidulthood (2006) and later played PC Lewis Hardy in the television series The Bill. His international film career expanded with roles in Red Tails (2012), The Butler (2013), and The Maze Runner (2014), where he portrayed Alby.
Ameen became internationally known for playing Capheus Onyango in the first season of Netflix's science-fiction series Sense8 (2015). He later appeared in Yardie (2018), I May Destroy You (2020), Till Death (2021), The Porter (2022), and Rustin (2023), where he portrayed Martin Luther King Jr.
In 2021, Ameen made his feature directorial debut with Boxing Day, which he also wrote, produced, and starred in. His career has since expanded across acting, filmmaking, writing, and producing.
