Amruta Subhash

Biography

Amruta Subhash is an actress, playback singer, and composer, who completed her graduation from the National School of Drama, New Delhi, following which, she ventured into the theater. Amruta got recognition for her lead role in the Marathi play, Tee Fulrani, an adaptation of My Fair Lady. 

 

She made a splashing debut with the film Shwaas (2004). The movie received a National Film Award for Best Feature Film and was the official entry from India at the 77th Academy Awards.

Amruta is best known for her lead role in the television series Awaghachi Sansaar (2004). She has starred in films like Chausar (2004), Nital (2006), Firaaq (2008), Contract (2008) and Tya Ratri Paus Hota (2009). 

 

She is a trained classical singer and has lent her voice to films like Haapus (2010) and Ajintha (2012). In 2014 and 2016, Amruta was seen in the award-winning movie, Killa (2014) and Anurag Kashyap`s Raman Raghav 2.0, respectively. 

 

Her other movie credits include Saha Gun (2017), Ti Ani Itar (2017), Nizam Sarkaroda (2017), Ziprya (2018) and Gully Boy (2019). Her 2020 release includes Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai.
