Andrew Marcus
Biography
Andrew Marcus is an American film editor and assistant director with a long-standing career in Hollywood. He has worked as an editor on more than 30 films, contributing to a wide range of genres from drama and romance to music documentaries and mainstream studio productions.
His editorial credits include Step Up 3D (2010), where his pacing and rhythm supported the film’s energetic choreography, as well as Tenderness (2009) and Begin Again (2013), both of which required a more character-driven and emotionally nuanced approach. Marcus also edited Roger Waters: The Wall (2014), a visually ambitious concert film that blended live performance with narrative and documentary elements.
In addition to his work in the editing room, Marcus has experience as an assistant director. He held assistant directing roles on notable films such as American Psycho (2000), Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001), and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (1994), gaining hands-on experience in film production and on-set coordination.
Marcus continued his editorial work into the late 2010s, with Isn’t It Romantic (2019) among his recent projects. His career reflects a versatility across both creative and logistical aspects of filmmaking, making him a respected contributor to contemporary American cinema.
