Biography

Andy Allo is a Cameroonian-American actress, singer-songwriter, guitarist, and musician, best known for playing Nora Antony in the science-fiction comedy series Upload (2020–2025). She is also known for Pitch Perfect 3, Chicago Fire, The Hero, and Black Lightning.

Early Life

Allo was born on January 13, 1989, in Bamenda, Cameroon. She developed an interest in music from an early age, learning piano as a child. She moved to Sacramento, California, with her family in 2000 and later studied at American River College.

Music Career

Allo began her professional music career with her debut album UnFresh in 2009. Her musical talent led to a major opportunity in 2011 when she joined Prince's band, The New Power Generation, as a singer and guitarist. She also collaborated with Prince on her album Superconductor (2012) and appeared on several of his recordings.

She subsequently released projects including Hello and One Step Closer, establishing herself as a singer-songwriter with a style influenced by soul, funk, R&B, and pop.

Acting Career

Allo began appearing on screen with television work before gaining attention through film and television roles. She played Serenity in Pitch Perfect 3 (2017) and later appeared in The Hero and Black Lightning. She also had a recurring role as Lieutenant Wendy Seager in Chicago Fire.

Her major acting breakthrough came with Upload, created by Greg Daniels. From 2020 to 2025, she portrayed Nora Antony, a customer-service representative who becomes closely involved with Nathan Brown, played by Robbie Amell. The role established Allo as a leading television actress.

Other Work

Allo has also worked as a writer and director, expanding her career beyond acting and music. Her creative interests include storytelling across film, television, music, and other artistic fields.
