Angi Bones
Biography
Angi Bones is an accomplished producer and film executive with a rich career in the film and television industry, currently known for her role as President of Original Programming at Tyler Perry Studios. She initially entered the entertainment field in the 1990s, pivoting from an initial plan to join law enforcement.
After interning on the film Panther by Mario Van Peebles, Bones was captivated by the industry, leading her to work on various notable productions. Over the years, she has contributed to high-profile projects such as The Negotiator, Training Day, Men of Honor, and House of Payne, where her work earned her an NAACP Image Award for her role as Co-Producer.
Bones’s production career includes collaborations with major studios and networks like BET, Freeform, and TV One. At Tyler Perry Studios, she was instrumental in producing series like The Oval, Sistas, Bruh, and Young Dylan, taking on projects that reflect the unique storytelling and audience engagement valued by the studio. Her creative leadership also led her to co-found West End Road Productions, where she produced and directed impactful content, including socially aware documentaries and films.
In her role at Tyler Perry Studios, Bones oversees the development of original series and films, bringing her extensive production expertise and industry connections to the studio’s expanding slate. With membership in industry guilds such as the Producers Guild of America and Directors Guild of America, Bones is recognized not only for her technical skills but also for her commitment to diversity and female empowerment in film, including her work with Reel Divas to support Black women in entertainment.
