Angie Harmon is an American actress and model best known for her work in television crime dramas and films. She was born on August 10, 1972, in Highland Park, Texas.
Early Life and Career
Harmon began her career as a model and won a modeling competition as a teenager. She worked internationally before transitioning to acting in the 1990s.
Her early television work included appearances in Baywatch Nights and C-16: FBI, where she played FBI agent Abbie Carmichael. She later became widely recognized for her role as Assistant District Attorney Abbie Carmichael on Law & Order.
Film Career
Harmon appeared in several films, including Agent Cody Banks (2003), Fun with Dick and Jane (2005), Serendipity (2001), and End Game (2006). In Fun with Dick and Jane, she appeared alongside Jim Carrey and Téa Leoni in the comedy about a couple who turn to crime after losing their financial security.
Television Success
One of Harmon's most notable roles came with the TNT crime drama Rizzoli & Isles (2010–2016), in which she played Detective Jane Rizzoli, a Boston police detective. Her performance made her one of the most recognizable television crime-drama actresses of the period.
She later starred in the series Law & Order? More accurately, Harmon returned to crime drama with Rizzoli & Isles and subsequently became involved in producing and other television projects.
Personal Life and Other Work
Harmon was married to former NFL player Jason Sehorn, with whom she has three daughters. She has also been involved in charitable and advocacy work and has continued to make appearances in television and entertainment projects.
