Annie McEnroe
Biography
Annie McEnroe (born September 3, 1955) is an American actress best known for her work in films during the 1980s and 1990s. She began her acting career in the late 1970s and appeared in a variety of comedies, dramas, thrillers, and fantasy films.
McEnroe gained recognition for her role as Corlie in the science-fiction film Battletruck (1982), for which she won the Best Actress award at the Sitges Film Festival. She subsequently appeared in films including The Survivors (1983), Purple Hearts (1984), Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf (1985), and True Stories (1986).
One of her best-known roles was Jane Butterfield in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice (1988). The film starred Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, and Winona Ryder and became a celebrated fantasy comedy.
McEnroe also appeared as Muffie Livingston in Oliver Stone's Wall Street (1987), as Amy Cranfield in Cop (1988), and in films such as CrissCross (1992), Men (1997), and The Hebrew Hammer (2003). She also had smaller appearances in productions including Born on the Fourth of July, Mr. Jones, and Dangerous Game.
In her personal life, McEnroe was married to film producer Edward R. Pressman from 1983 until he died in 2023, and they had one child, Sam Pressman.
Annie McEnroe is particularly remembered for Beetlejuice, Battletruck, Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf, True Stories, and Wall Street, which established her as a recognizable supporting actress of American cinema in the 1980s.
