Anuraadha Tewari

Biography

Anuraadha Tewari is a Mumbai-based Indian writer and director who has worked in the entertainment industry for more than three decades. She holds a master’s degree in Mass Communication and a gold medal in Film Direction from Jamia Millia Islamia’s film school in New Delhi.

 

 

Career

Tewari has written seven films, 25 television shows, and several web series. She is best known for writing the story and screenplay of Fashion (2008), which received critical acclaim and earned National Film Awards for its lead actresses. She also contributed the story and screenplay to films such as Jail (2009) and Heroine (2012).

 

In 2017, Tewari founded KOSEN RUFU, a writing company focused on developing writers' rooms, discovering and training new writing talent, and creating opportunities for emerging screenwriters. She also runs Film Gurukul, where she teaches the fundamentals of screenwriting through her certification course, Language of Cinema.

 

 

Education

Tewari studied at Welham Girls' School and was the national topper in ISC Commerce in 1989. She later graduated with a B.Com. (Hons.) degree from Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi, where she served as president of the students' union. She subsequently completed a master's degree in Mass Communication and earned a gold medal in Film Direction.
