Appunni Sasi
Biography
Appunni Sasi is an Indian actor and theatre artist who works predominantly in Malayalam cinema. His real name is Sasi Eranjikkal, and he is known for bringing his extensive theatre experience to screen performances.
He began his career in theatre and trained under playwright and director Jayaprakash Kuloor. Before becoming established in cinema, he worked in construction during the day while performing in plays in the evenings. His notable theatre works include Appunnikalude Radio, Thiranjeduppu and Chakkarapanthal.
Appunni Sasi made his film appearances in productions such as Shutter (2012) and Puthan Panam (2017). He subsequently appeared in Pranaya Meenukalude Kadal (2019), Kappela (2020), Anveshanam (2020), Kallan D'Souza (2022) and Padavettu (2022).
His breakthrough came with Puzhu (2022), directed by Ratheena, in which he played Kuttappan, a theatre artist. His performance alongside Mammootty and Parvathy Thiruvothu received considerable attention and established him as a distinctive character actor in Malayalam cinema.
His later credits include Maharani (2023), Pulimada (2023), Dear Vaappi (2023), Kadha Innuvare (2024), Jai Mahendran (2024) and Ouseppinte Osiyathu (2025).
