Arjun Lal

Biography

Arjun Lal is an Indian actor and screenwriter who works primarily in Malayalam cinema. He is best known for his performances in Thanmathra (2005), Asha Black (2014), Dear Friend (2022) and Anomie (2026).

 

 

Early Life and Career

Arjun Lal was born on 13 March 1987 in Koratti, Kerala. He completed his schooling in Kerala and Dubai before earning a degree in psychology and later an MBA from Christ University, Bengaluru.

He made his acting debut as a child artist in Thanmathra (2005), directed by Blessy. He played Manu Ramesh, the son of Mohanlal's character, and his performance earned him a Kerala State Film Award – Special Mention as well as an Asianet Film Award for Best Male New Face of the Year.

 

 

Film Career

After taking a break from acting to complete his education, Arjun Lal returned as a lead actor in Asha Black (2014), in which he played Rohit, a musician associated with a band in Bengaluru.

He later appeared in Dear Friend (2022), playing a character named Arjun. He also served as one of the film's writers, making the project an important creative contribution to his career. The film drew partly from his experiences of living and studying in Bengaluru.

His subsequent credits include Varshangalkku Shesham (2024) and Anomie (2026). In Anomie, directed by Riyas Marath, he plays Alby alongside Rahman, Bhavana, Shebin Benson and other members of the ensemble cast.
