Biography
Rooted in Kolkata, I have started my creative journey with Theatre. Worked with reputed theatre group Rangakarmee under the Direction of Usha Ganguli in the plays, Ratnakar Matkaris Lokkatha, Mahesh Elkunchwar 's Holi, Swadesh Deepak's Court Martial.
Theatre taught me the nuances of characters, subtext, and method. After my stint with Rangakarmee for 8 years I worked with NSD Almunis for 1 year, which enriched my understanding of the art. But Cinema was the call for me always.
To understand Cinema better, I had done the Film Appreciation Course from FTII. But I always wanted to do my kind of Cinema, and to survive with that vision I had chosen an alternative profession, advertising.
I have worked as an AD Filmmaker & Creative Strategist. Advertising taught me the strength of Ideas and how to tell a story in a few seconds. In 2015, I launched my own production company Showbigg.
Started with a Bengali Feature Film NAXAL with Superstar Mithun Chakraborty. My current film is MASK, which is Written & Directed by me, starring Brijendra Kala, which is going to be released soon on a Prime OTT platform.
