Ashwath Marimuthu
Biography
Ashwath Marimuthu is an Indian film director and screenwriter known for his innovative storytelling in the Tamil film industry. Born and raised in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, he pursued his education at Montfort Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School and later at SSN College of Engineering in Kalavakkam. To further hone his filmmaking skills, Ashwath attended the New York Film Academy.
Career
Ashwath made a remarkable entry into the Tamil cinema with his directorial debut, Oh My Kadavule, in 2020. The film, starring Ashok Selvan and Ritika Singh, was lauded for its fresh narrative and engaging screenplay, establishing him as a promising filmmaker. Following this success, he directed Ori Devuda in 2022, a Telugu remake of his debut film, which also received positive reviews. Currently, Ashwath is working on his upcoming project, Dragon, set to release in 2025. This anticipated film aims to explore themes of success and its implications on modern youth.
