Biography
B. Ajithkumar is an Indian film editor and director who has made a significant contribution to Malayalam cinema. Born in Kothamangalam, Kerala, he developed a passion for filmmaking at an early age and later studied at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, one of the country's premier film schools.
Ajithkumar began his career as a film editor and quickly earned recognition for his exceptional storytelling skills in the editing room. Over the years, he has worked on several critically acclaimed films, earning a reputation as one of the finest editors in the Malayalam film industry. His editing work in films such as Naalu Pennungal, Annayum Rasoolum, and Kammatipaadam received widespread praise.
In 2007, he won the National Film Award for Best Editing for Naalu Pennungal. He has also received multiple Kerala State Film Awards for Best Editor, reflecting his consistent excellence in the field.
Ajithkumar made his directorial debut with Eeda (2018), a romantic drama set against the backdrop of political conflict in Kerala.
