Biography

Banerjee (born Maganti Venu Banerjee) is an Indian actor who primarily appears in Telugu films. The son of noted character actor Maganti Raghavaiah, he began his career behind the camera as an assistant director and has since built a film career spanning more than 40 years.

Early Life

Banerjee was born in the Governorpeta locality of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. He studied at the Montessori Children’s School, led by Vege Koteswaramma. His father, Maganti Raghavaiah, worked in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, which led the family to live in Delhi for a period. Banerjee later pursued his intermediate education at A.C. College in Guntur. He went on to study Hotel Management in Chennai, where he also completed his B.A. degree. After his studies, he worked as a branch manager for a company in Vizianagaram.

Career

Banerjee began his film journey working with filmmaker U. Visweswara Rao before continuing to build a long and steady career in Telugu cinema.
