She completed her schooling at Pratt Memorial School in Kolkata and later pursued higher education at Calcutta University. Barsha commenced her acting career with the television show Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii in 2008, portraying the character Shivangi Ishaan Kaul. She gained recognition for her roles in popular TV serials such as Ishq Ka Rang Safed (as Rachna), Aap Ke Aa Jane Se (as Maya Srinivasan), and Barrister Babu (as Devoleena Jadhav). Her versatility is evident in her performances across various shows, including Udaan, Chidiya Ghar, Neeli Chatri Waale, and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, where she played Mitali Mami, a character with complex shades. ​
