Bhaskhar Maurya
Biography
Bhaskhar Maurya is an Indian filmmaker and writer known for his work in Telugu cinema and digital entertainment. He made his feature-film debut as a writer-director with Muthayya (2022), a rural drama about a 70-year-old man determined to fulfill his dream of becoming an actor. The film received recognition at several international film festivals.
Maurya later directed Sivarapalli (2025), a Telugu comedy-drama series and official adaptation of Panchayat. The series follows an engineering graduate who reluctantly joins a village as a Panchayat secretary and struggles to adjust to rural life.
Through Muthayya and Sivarapalli, Bhaskhar Maurya has established himself as a filmmaker interested in rural settings, ordinary characters, human emotions, dreams, and understated storytelling.
