Biography
Bobby Prakash and Sanjay Prakash, popularly known as Bobby–Sanjay, are an Indian screenwriting duo who work predominantly in Malayalam cinema. The brothers are known for writing films that combine compelling characters with social issues, crime, suspense, and contemporary themes.
Early Life and Family
Bobby and Sanjay are the sons of veteran actor Prem Prakash and the nephews of acclaimed actor Jose Prakash. Coming from a family with a strong connection to Malayalam cinema, they developed an early interest in storytelling and filmmaking.
Film Career
The duo began their screenwriting career with Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum (2003), directed by Sibi Malayil. Their next major project was Notebook (2006), directed by Rosshan Andrrews. The film addressed contemporary issues including teenage pregnancy and became particularly popular among younger audiences.
Their breakthrough came with Traffic (2011). The screenplay, which took more than two years to develop, was inspired by real-life incidents and employed an interconnected narrative structure. The film became a major success and is regarded as an important film in the development of the modern Malayalam thriller.
They subsequently wrote Casanovva (2012), followed by Ayalum Njanum Thammil (2012). The latter explored the relationship between an experienced doctor and an irresponsible junior doctor while examining ethical and professional issues within the medical field. It received widespread acclaim and won several Kerala State Film Awards.
In 2013, Bobby–Sanjay collaborated with Rosshan Andrrews again for Mumbai Police. The crime thriller received a strong critical and commercial response and became one of the notable Malayalam films of its period.
They continued their collaboration with Andrrews with How Old Are You? (2014), which marked Manju Warrier's return to Malayalam cinema after a long hiatus. The film dealt with women's aspirations, self-confidence, and social expectations.

Before becoming widely established in feature films, Bobby–Sanjay also worked in television. They scripted the serial Avicharitham (2004), which was broadcast on Asianet. The serial received critical appreciation and earned them several honours, including recognition from television critics.
They also contributed to the serial Avasthantharangal, also known as Mikhayelinte Santhathikal. Their uncle Jose Prakash appeared in the lead role.
Writing Style
Bobby–Sanjay are particularly known for constructing complex narratives and morally layered characters.
