Burcu Alptekin was born on 6 October 1982 in Istanbul, Turkey. She is a Turkish director and assistant director who began working in the television and film industry in 2003. Over the years, she has worked on numerous productions, gradually moving from assistant directing to directing.
Alptekin has directed several popular Turkish television and digital productions, including The Protector (2018), Another Self (2022), and Golden Boy (2022). Another Self was produced for Netflix and ran for two seasons, while Golden Boy became one of her most prominent television projects.
Her earlier work as an assistant director includes Yabancı Damat, The Magnificent Century, Vavien, Sürgün İnek, Affairs of the Heart, and Poyraz Karayel. She has also worked as a writer and producer on Düşlerimden Düştüm.
