Biography
Carly Paradis is a Canadian-British composer, songwriter, and pianist, born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She is best known for composing music for film and television, particularly atmospheric and dramatic scores.
Paradis gained an early career opportunity working with composer Clint Mansell. In 2007, she arranged and performed piano parts for the score of Moon (2009), directed by Duncan Jones, and later toured with Mansell's ensemble.
She became widely recognized as the composer of the BBC crime drama Line of Duty, creating its distinctive theme and incidental music across the series. Her other television credits include The Innocents (2018), Sick Note, Prime Suspect: 1973, Whitstable Pearl, The Pembrokeshire Murders, The Rising, The Control Room, Until I Kill You, and Get Millie Black.
For The Innocents, Paradis won a Hollywood Music in Media Award for the song associated with the Netflix supernatural drama. She also won a Royal Television Society Award and a Music+Sound Award for her work on The Rising.
Beyond screen composition, Paradis has released solo albums and, since 2022, has performed keyboards with Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds on their live tours.
