Biography
A popular comedian who has also played several supporting characters, Charlie is an Indian actor who has featured in predominantly Tamil films, along with a few Malayalam and Telugu movies.
Recipient of The Best Comedian Award and Best Character Artiste Award by the Film Fans Association - Chennai, Best Comedian Award by Bharath Social & Cultural Academy - Chennai, and also the prestigious Kalaimamani Award (2004), Charlie has been active in the film industry since more than three decades and has established himself as one of the finest comedians in the industry.
His most prominent roles were seen in movies like Friends (2001) as Gopal, Singaaravelan (1992) as Flute Ramasamy, Papanasam (2015) as a bus conductor, and 24 (2016) as an astrologer. His other notable films include Duet (1994), Jeeva (2014), Anniyan (2005) and Neram (2013).
He was featured in several movies in 2017 like Yaman, Maanagaram, and Paambhu Sattai. His other venture includes the Tamil romantic film Kadhal Kasakuthaiya, starring Venba and Dhruvva in the lead roles, under the direction of Dwarakh Raja.
He is associated with the 2018 Telugu comedy-romance Heartbeat directed by Dwarakh Raja, starring Dhruvva, Venba, and Kalpana in lead roles. His 2019 release includes MEI.
