Charlie Sheen is an American actor best known for his work in films and television. He was born Carlos Irwin Estévez on September 3, 1965, in New York City.
Sheen rose to prominence with films such as Platoon (1986), Wall Street (1987), Young Guns (1988), Major League (1989), and Hot Shots! (1991). He became particularly famous on television for playing Charlie Harper in the sitcom Two and a Half Men, for which he received several award nominations.
He later starred in the comedy series Anger Management (2012–2014). Sheen is also part of the Estévez family of actors; his father is actor Martin Sheen, and his brother is actor Emilio Estevez.
