Choi Hyun Wook

Biography

Choi Hyun-wook (최현욱), born on January 30, 2002, is a rising South Korean actor.   

 

 

During his childhood, Choi Hyun-wook was a baseball player for ten years. However, an elbow injury during his first year of high school led to surgery and rehabilitation. When his condition didn't improve, he shifted his career path to acting. He eventually transferred to Hanlim Multi Art School to pursue Broadcasting & Entertainment.   

 

 

Choi began his acting career in 2019, taking the lead in the web drama Real:Time:Love. He gained recognition for his roles in the SBS television series Taxi Driver and Racket Boys, earning him the Best New Actor award at the 2021 SBS Drama Awards. His popularity further increased with his appearances in Twenty-Five Twenty-One (2022), Weak Hero Class 1 (2022), D.P. 2 (2021–2023), and Twinkling Watermelon (2023).   

 

 

In Weak Hero Class 1, he played Ahn Su-ho. He is also cast in the 2025 drama My Dearest Nemesis as Ban Joo-yeon.   

 

 

Choi Hyun-wook won the Why Not Award at the 2023 Blue Dragon Series Awards for Weak Hero Class 1 and the Best New Actor award at the 2021 SBS Drama Awards for Racket Boys and Taxi Driver. He was also nominated for Best New Actor at the 2022 Baeksang Arts Awards for Twenty-Five Twenty-One.
