Christopher Eugene O'Donnell, popularly known as Chris O'Donnell, is an American actor born on June 26, 1970, in Winnetka, Illinois. He is the youngest of seven children and was raised in a Roman Catholic family. O'Donnell attended Boston College, where he graduated with a degree in marketing, but his passion for acting took center stage early in his life, beginning with modeling and commercials during his teenage years.

 

Career:

Chris O'Donnell's film career began in the early 1990s, quickly establishing him as a rising star in Hollywood. He made a strong impression with his role opposite Jessica Lange in Men Don’t Leave (1990) and gained further recognition in Fried Green Tomatoes (1991). His breakout performance came with Scent of a Woman (1992), in which he played a prep school student opposite Al Pacino, earning critical praise and a Golden Globe nomination.

 

In the mid-1990s, O'Donnell starred in a series of hit films, including The Three Musketeers (1993), Circle of Friends (1995), and Mad Love (1995). He gained international fame playing Dick Grayson/Robin in Batman Forever (1995) and Batman & Robin (1997). Despite the mixed reception of Batman & Robin, O'Donnell remained a recognizable name in Hollywood.

 

After a brief lull in his film career, O'Donnell transitioned successfully to television. He appeared in Grey’s Anatomy and later found lasting success as Special Agent G. Callen in the hit CBS series NCIS: Los Angeles (2009–2023), which significantly revived his popularity and showcased his range in a dramatic action role.
