Chrissy Metz is an American actress and singer, born Christine Michelle Metz on September 29, 1980, in Homestead, Florida. She spent part of her childhood in Japan before her family moved back to Florida. She began her entertainment career with small television and film roles.
Metz gained early recognition as Ima Wiggles in American Horror Story: Freak Show. Her breakthrough came in 2016 when she was cast as Kate Pearson in the acclaimed drama This Is Us. The role earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination and two Golden Globe nominations.
Her film credits include Sierra Burgess Is a Loser and Breakthrough, in which she played Joyce Smith. Metz has also pursued music, releasing songs including “Talking to God” and “Actress.”
