Chum Darang, born on October 16, 1991, in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, is an accomplished Indian model, actress, entrepreneur, and social activist.
Darang's journey into the public eye began in the world of beauty pageants. She was crowned Miss AAPSU in 2010, marking a significant milestone. Subsequently, she represented India at Miss Earth India 2016, where she was named Miss Earth India Water. Her international pageant experience continued as she represented India at Miss Asia Pacific World 2017, finishing as the fifth runner-up and winning the Miss Internet sub-title.
In 2017, she also won Miss Tiara India International, along with the sub-titles "Miss Sports Gear" and "Miss Best National Costume." Earlier, in 2015, she was the second runner-up at the Miss Himalaya pageant and a finalist in Miss North East Diva 2014.
Transitioning to acting, Chum Darang made her debut in the 2020 Amazon Prime Video series "Paatal Lok." Her Bollywood debut followed in 2022 with a significant role in "Badhaai Do," where her portrayal of a same-sex partner received praise. The same year, she also appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Gangubai Kathiawadi."
