Ciarán Foy
Biography
Ciarán Foy is an Irish film and television director and screenwriter, born in Dublin in 1979. He graduated from the National Film School in Dún Laoghaire with an honours degree in directing.
Foy began his career making short films, including The Puppet (2002), Scum-Bot (2007), and the award-winning The Faeries of Blackheath Woods (2006). His feature-film debut came with the psychological horror film Citadel (2012), which he wrote and directed and which won the Midnighters Audience Award at SXSW.
He later directed the horror sequel Sinister 2 (2015) and Netflix's Eli (2019). His television work includes two episodes of The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020) and episodes of Sweet Tooth, including work on its second and third seasons.
Known for his work in horror, supernatural drama, and dark fantasy, Foy has established an international career spanning both feature films and acclaimed streaming series.
