Corey Walter
Biography
Corey Walter is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer originally from Texas, known for his dynamic visual style across film, television, and commercial projects. He began his career as a still photographer, shooting for prestigious publications and brands such as W Magazine, The New York Times, The London Sunday Telegraph, Nike, and Apple. Over time, he discovered that cinematography was his true calling and transitioned into motion pictures.
Film and Television Work
Walter has built an impressive portfolio as a director of photography. His notable television credits include HBO Max’s Tokyo Vice, based on Jake Adelstein’s account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police; the ABC Signature mini-series Fleishman Is in Trouble (2022), produced by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris and starring Claire Danes and Jesse Eisenberg; and Apple TV+’s WeCrashed, produced by Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello, featuring Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto.
In film, he served as DP on the 2019 feature Lying and Stealing, directed by Matt Aselton and starring Theo James and Emily Ratajkowski, as well as The House of Tomorrow (2018), directed by Peter Livolsi and starring Asa Butterfield. Earlier projects include the Amazon pilot The Highston (2015) and the interactive art film Station to Station (2015), directed by Doug Aitken. Walter also shot Goodbye to All That, which earned two nominations and a jury award at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Commercial Work
Beyond narrative projects, Walter has an extensive background in commercial cinematography. He has shot campaigns for brands including Adidas, Apple, American Express, PlayStation, ESPN, Coach, and Kate Spade, collaborating with directors such as Stacy Wall, Matt Aselton, Dayton/Faris, Phil Morrison, and Ted Pauly.
