Biography

Dan Gordon is an accomplished Israeli-American screenwriter, television writer, television producer, television director, film producer, novelist, playwright, film director, and reserve duty captain in the Israel Defense Forces. His career has spanned decades, leaving a lasting mark on various forms of storytelling.   

 

 

Early Life and Education:

Born in Southern California to a Jewish family, Gordon's interest in filmmaking began early. He attended UCLA, where he majored in film and television.   

 

 

A Diverse Career:

Gordon's career has been marked by its versatility. He has written for numerous television series, including "Highway to Heaven," "Murder in the First," and "Wyatt Earp." He also adapted "Terms of Endearment" and "Rain Man" for the stage, both of which enjoyed successful runs on Broadway.   

 

 

Gordon's film credits include "The Hurricane," "Wyatt Earp," and "The Celestine Prophecy." He also co-founded the Zaki Gordon Institute for Independent Filmmaking in Sedona, Arizona, and has served as a guest lecturer at prestigious institutions like Columbia University and the University of Southern California.
