Biography
Daniel Palladino is an American television writer, producer, and director, born on February 2, 1960, in Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his long-standing creative partnership with his wife, writer and producer Amy Sherman-Palladino.
Palladino began his television career in the late 1980s, working on shows such as Who's the Boss? and later Cheers. During the 1990s, he became a writer and producer on Roseanne, eventually serving as an executive producer. He also worked on Flesh 'n Blood, The Sinbad Show, and Family Guy.
His most important collaboration came with Gilmore Girls (2000–2006), created by Amy Sherman-Palladino. He served as a writer, producer, and director, contributing to numerous episodes and helping shape the show's distinctive humor and character-driven storytelling. He later returned as an executive producer, writer, and director for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life (2016).
Palladino subsequently worked on The Return of Jezebel James (2008) and Bunheads (2012–2013). He achieved further success with The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017–2023), serving as executive producer, writer, and director. The series became a major critical success and received numerous awards, including multiple Primetime Emmy Awards.
His later work includes Étoile (2025), which he created with Amy Sherman-Palladino and on which he serves as writer, director, and executive producer.
