Danira Gović is a Croatian actress, recognized for her notable roles in British film and television after moving to the United Kingdom early in her career.

Born in Šibenik, Croatia (then part of SFR Yugoslavia), Gović relocated to London in 1993 after finishing secondary school. Her path to acting was non-traditional. She initially took various jobs, including working as a babysitter and selling bras. 

 

A pivotal moment in her early life was taking a waitressing job at the Royal National Theatre in London, where she had the opportunity to observe actors and the world of professional theatre up close. This experience inspired her to audition, and she successfully gained acceptance to a drama school with a scholarship.

 

 

 

🎬 Television and Film Career

Gović's career is marked by a mix of British and Croatian productions, with her most recognizable role coming from a long-running UK series.

 

 

Hotel Babylon (2006–2009): She is best known for her recurring role as Tanja Mihajlov, the Croatian chambermaid who later became Head of Housekeeping in the popular BBC comedy-drama series.

 

 

The Mother (2003): Gović appeared in the acclaimed film directed by Roger Michell, playing the role of an Au Pair alongside major British talent.
