Danny Lux

Biography

Danny Lux, born Daniel Scott Lux on June 5, 1969, is an American television and film composer. Raised in California’s San Fernando Valley, he developed a passion for music at a young age and began playing drums before pursuing professional composing.

 

After graduating from high school in 1987, Lux began working with renowned television composer Mike Post, spending nearly a decade learning the craft of television scoring. He later established himself as a composer, working across dramas, comedies, thrillers, and films.

 

Lux is particularly known for his long-running work on Grey's Anatomy, for which he has composed music since 2005. He has also contributed to NYPD Blue, Ally McBeal, Boston Legal, The Good Wife, My Name Is Earl, Mistresses, Manifest, Station 19, and The Irrational.

His film credits include Halloween: Resurrection and Stolen Summer. He has received multiple Emmy nominations, including recognition for his television theme music, and has also earned BMI awards for his work in television.

 

With thousands of television episodes and numerous film projects to his credit, Danny Lux has established himself as one of the prolific composers in American television, known for creating distinctive musical atmospheres that support the emotion and storytelling of each production.
