Danny Ramirez is an American actor known for his work in television and film, particularly for playing Joaquin Torres in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Lieutenant Mickey “Fanboy” Garcia in Top Gun: Maverick (2022). He was born on September 17, 1992, in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in Miami, Florida.

Early Life and Education

Danny Ramirez developed an interest in sports when he was young and initially dreamed of becoming a professional athlete. He played football and soccer, but injuries eventually pushed him toward acting. After discovering his passion for performance, he studied acting at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and graduated in 2018.

Acting Career

Ramirez began his professional acting career with small television roles, appearing in series such as The Affair and Blindspot. He subsequently appeared in Orange Is the New Black, The Gifted, and On My Block. His early film work included Assassination Nation (2018), Tone-Deaf (2019), and Valley Girl (2020).

A breakthrough came in 2021 when he joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Joaquin Torres in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Torres is a U.S. Air Force officer who becomes connected with Sam Wilson and eventually takes on the Falcon identity.

Top Gun: Maverick

In 2022, Ramirez gained worldwide recognition for playing Lieutenant Mickey “Fanboy” Garcia in Top Gun: Maverick. The film, starring Tom Cruise, became a major commercial success and helped establish Ramirez as a prominent young actor in Hollywood.

That same year, he appeared in films including No Exit, Look Both Ways, and Stars at Noon.

Marvel Career

Ramirez returned as Joaquin Torres in Captain America: Brave New World (2025). In the film, Torres becomes the new Falcon while working alongside Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie. The role expanded Ramirez's importance within the MCU and established him as a superhero character in his own right.

He has also appeared in HBO's The Last of Us, further demonstrating his ability to work across different genres and television formats.
