Danson Tang (Chinese: 唐禹哲; Pinyin: Táng Yǔzhé) is a Taiwanese actor, singer, and model, renowned for his versatility and contributions to the entertainment industry.
Early Life
Born on September 2, 1984, in Keelung, Taiwan, Tang faced significant challenges during his upbringing. At the age of fourteen, he experienced the loss of his father due to a work-related accident, which led his mother to take on multiple jobs to support the family. This period of hardship instilled in him a sense of independence and resilience. Tang pursued higher education at Hsing Wu University, majoring in English, although he eventually left to focus on his burgeoning career.
Career
Modeling and Early Acting Roles
Tang's entry into the entertainment world began during his college years when he worked part-time at a Japanese restaurant. His striking looks led to opportunities in commercial modeling and appearances in music videos, notably for the Hong Kong pop duo Twins.
In 2004, after gaining recognition through his commercial work, he signed with the Taiwanese television network GTV, marking the start of his acting career. Initially cast in minor supporting roles, Tang's breakthrough came in 2005 when he portrayed the antagonist in the popular idol drama "KO One," acting alongside members of the boy band Fahrenheit.
Transition to Leading Roles
Following his success in "KO One," Tang continued to collaborate with GTV and appeared in several idol dramas, including "Hanazakarino Kimitachihe," "The X-Family," "They Kiss Again," and "Rolling Love." Despite his growing popularity, he felt overshadowed and underpromoted by his management company, leading to his departure from GTV in 2011.
He subsequently signed with Comprise Boundless Entertainment and expanded his career into Mainland China and Hong Kong. In 2012, Tang secured his first leading role in the Hong Kong television drama "Love in Time," portraying a 200-year-old vampire who falls in love with a human girl.
Music Career
In addition to acting, Tang pursued a music career. He signed with Avex Taiwan and released his debut solo album "Love Me" (愛我) on August 17, 2007. This was followed by "D's New Attraction" (D新引力) in 2009 and "The First Second" (D1秒) in 2010. His musical endeavors showcased his versatility as an artist and solidified his presence in the Mandopop scene.
Personal Life
Tang has often been associated with the boy band Fahrenheit due to their frequent collaborations, leading to misconceptions about his membership in the group. He shares a close friendship with Fahrenheit member Jiro Wang. In 2023, Tang proposed to American-Taiwanese actress and model Becky Su on the Chinese reality show "Call Me By Fire" (Season 3). He later revealed that he has an 11-year-old son from a previous relationship, a fact known to Su. In 2024, Tang disclosed the birth of his second son, born two years prior, with Su.

As of 2025, Tang continues to engage in various acting projects. He has appeared in television series such as "The Legend of Sealed Book" (2024) as Zuo Chu and "My Little Perfection" (2024) as Gu Jia Hui.
