D'Arcy Carden is an American actress, comedian, and producer, born on January 4, 1980, in Danville, California. She studied theater at Southern Oregon University and began her entertainment career performing improvisational comedy with the Upright Citizens Brigade.
Carden gained recognition through recurring roles in Broad City and appearances in Inside Amy Schumer, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Veep. Her breakthrough came in 2016 when she was cast as Janet, the helpful artificial being, in the NBC comedy series The Good Place. Her performance earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
She later gained acclaim for playing Natalie Greer in the HBO dark comedy Barry. In 2022, Carden starred as Greta Gill in the Amazon Prime Video series A League of Their Own, portraying a glamorous baseball player in the fictionalized story of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.
Her other screen credits include Shotgun Wedding, Greener Grass, Let It Snow, Bombshell, Nobody Wants This, and The Gutter. She also made her Broadway debut in The Thanksgiving Play in 2023.
