Daria Ellerman
Biography
Daria Ellerman, C.C.E., is an accomplished picture editor with over 25 years of experience in television series, movies of the week (MOWs), and feature films. A graduate of The University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television Studies, she was among the first recipients of an apprenticeship award from the Canadian Academy of Film and Television.
Career Highlights
Daria’s extensive credits span a wide range of genres and formats. Recent work includes Netflix series Virgin River, Sweet Magnolias, and Malibu Rescue, ABC’s Take Two, as well as feature films Meditation Park (directed by Mina Shum) and Birdwatcher (directed by Siobhan Devine).
She has edited hundreds of hours of television, including sitcoms (Mr. Young, Some Assembly Required, The Stanley Dynamic), one-hour series (ICE, Cedar Cove, Shattered, The Dead Zone, Stargate, The Outer Limits), and half-hour comedies (Exes and Ohs, Noah’s Arc). Her MOW credits include Harvest Love, Britney Ever After, Christmas on Chestnut Street, and The Building.
Recognition and Awards
Daria has been nominated for ten Leo Awards, a DGC Award, a Gemini Award, and the Southampton International Film Festival. She has won three Leo Awards—for Virgin River and Malibu Rescue in 2020, and for The Collector in 2005—highlighting her excellence in picture editing.
